William Fleming 52, George Washington 44
William Fleming pulled away from George Washington in the second half to win a closely-contested contest, 52-44, on Tuesday night in Roanoke.
Fleming led by three at the half and was able to take advantage of 17 GW turnovers to pull away. The Eagles (9-3, 2-1 Western Valley District) also shot 6 of 16 from the free throw line.
Khadijah Wilson, Bri Fitzgerald and Jamonica Pinkney each scored nine points to pace GW. Deynesha Goods added eight points. GW hosts Dan River at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
Chatham 50, William Campbell 20
Chatham held William Campbell to two first-half points and coasted to a 30-point Dogwood District victory.
Jaliyuah Giggetts paced the Cavaliers (8-3, 4-1) with 16 points and five steals. Millie Walker added 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Briana Jones finished with five points and five rebounds.
Chatham held the Generals scoreless in the first quarter and all nine players scored for the Cavaliers.
