PRINCETON, W.Va. - Andrelton Simmons went 3-for-5 with three runs scored as the Danville Braves bounced back to top the Princeton Rays, 6-3, on Friday night.
Simmons rattled off two doubles - the first to lead off the third inning to start a three-run inning and the second with one out in the eighth to add two insurance runs.
Barrett Kleinknecht added three hits and two RBIs for the Braves (21-17), which gave plenty of support to starter
Lucas La Point (2-2) allowed three runs on six hits and one walk in five innings. He finished with five strikeouts.
Matthew Suschak picked up the save, surrendering only one hit over the final three innings.
Danville concludes its series with Princeton at 7 p.m. tonight before returning home to open a three-game series with Bluefield at 4 p.m. Sunday.
