Danville's offense silenced by Princeton's Lara

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Princeton scored two runs in the fourth inning and added two more in the fifth to take a 4-0 win over Danville on Saturday and two out of three games in the series.

Bryan Fogle’s two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth gave Princeton all the offense it would need. But the Rays picked up a pair of insurance runs in the fifth on RBIs by Todd Glasemann and Scott Lawson.

Braulio Lara scattered six hits over five innings to get the win, his fourth of the season. Lara struck out four and walked three. George Jensen got the save.

Danville pitcher Dan Jurik took the loss, giving up six hits and striking out four in six innings of work.

Ryan Query was 2-for-4 for the Braves.

Danville returns home for a three-game series with Bluefield. Today’s first pitch is at 4:05 p.m. at Dan Daniel Park.
