Trent Brothers clinched the Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department’s Dixie Youth Baseball Ozone League championship Monday with an 8-2 win over Drs. Vision Center at Lowes Park.
In the other Ozone game, Pizza Hut whipped the Rays 15-3.
In Minor League action, the Firefighters edged the Grasshoppers 4-3 and Youth Haven downed Booney’s Pizza 8-5.
In Pony League games at Jaycee Park, N.C. Baseball slipped past Huntsville 8-7 and the Eden Y/Rec beat Triad Septic 14-3.
Trent Bros. 8, Drs. Vision 2
Nick Stadler’s first-inning grand slam homer helped lift the A’s to the pennant clinching win.
Stadler, Collin Paschal, and Chandler Pruitt all had hits for Trent’s while Paschal pitched a one-hitter.
Jonathan Rigney had the lone hit for the Tigers.
Pizza Hut 15, Rays 3
The Cubs scored eight runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Brian Ball, Kyle Chrisco, and Ryne Dickens had two hits each for Pizza Hut and Blake Stewart, Cole Hawks, and Nick Taylor had one apiece.
Travis Presnell and Zeb Murray had two hits each for the Rays and Aaron Durham had one.
Firefighters 4, Grasshoppers 3
The Firefighters handed the Grasshoppers their first loss of the season.
Jonathan Pulliam, Landon Warner, Brandon Lee, Will Toms, and Chandler Singleton had hits for the Orioles. Warner was the winning pitcher.
Patrick Bailey (HR) had two hits for the Hoppers and Jake Perdue and William Moore had one apiece.
Youth Haven 8, Booney’s Pizza 5
Noah Johnson had two hits for the Dodgers and Gregory Davis, Jacob Vaughn, Alec Abel, Ryan Madren, and T.J. Buck had one apiece.
Josh Johnson had two hits for Booney’s and Cody Hamlett, Trevor Boone, Graham Doucette, and Josh Pennell had one each.
NC Baseball 8, Huntsville 7
Justin Smith (HR) and Tyler Chilton (HR) had three hits each for NC Baseball, Caleb Shanaberger had two and Jake Willard and Tyler Jones had one apiece.
Lucas Martin and Dylan Sullivan had two hits for Huntsville and Blaine Dalton and Alex Tucker had one apiece.
Eden Y/Rec 14, Triad Septic 3
Meridith, Sasser, Moore, and Underwood had two hits each for Eden and Foster had one.
Trey Martin, Daniel Cardwell, and Wyatt James had hits for Triad.
Friday’s Results
Chris Cotter, Jonathan Rigney, and Chris Cline hit consecutive homers in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally Drs. Vision Center to an 11-10 win over the Kiwanis Club Dodgers in a Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League game Friday at Lowes Park.
In other games over the weekend, the Grasshoppers edged the Firefighters 5-2, the Firefighters nipped Youth Haven 7-6, the Grasshoppers whipped Lions Club 12-4, Shapiro Eye Care blanked the Yankees 10-0, B&L Auto clubbed the Reds 23-5, and the Warriors shutout the SpaceWalk of the Northern Piedmont 19-0. Drs. Vision also won by forfeit over Pizza Hut.
Drs. Vision 11, Kiwanis Club 10
Cotter hit a three-run homer, Rigney hit the game-tying homer, and then Cline hit the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth.
Cline, Cotter, and Kendal Eanes had three hits each for the Tigers, Rigney had two and Dylan Plainte, Darren Zeller, and Dylan Denning had one each.
Spencer Street, Zach Shelton, and Jeremy Moricle had two hits each for the Dodgers.
Grasshoppers 5, Firefighters 2
The Grasshoppers clinched the American Division championship with the win over the Firefighters Saturday.
Patrick Bailey pitched the win while Dawson Ellington and Jordan Bryant led the offense with two hits each. Adding one apiece were Bailey, Jake Perdue, Andy Woodson, and Hailey Haynes.
Grey Cook had two hits for the Orioles and Landon Warner had one.
Firefighters 7, Youth Haven 6
Brendon Harris scored the winning run in the seventh inning to lift the Orioles.
Jonathan Pulliam, Landon Warner, Bryson Edwards, and Tyler Lipford had hits for the winners.
Noah Johnson had three hits for the Dodgers, Ross Johnson had two and Jacob Vaughn, Nick Hall, and Alec Abel had one each.
Grasshoppers 12, Lions Club 4
Jake Perdue and Patrick Bailey had two hits for the Grasshoppers while Dawson Ellington, Jordan Bryant, Andy Woodson, Spencer Starr, and Matthew Jones had one apiece.
Sam Baber and Jared Hutchins had hits for the Braves.
Shapiro Eye 10, Yankees 0
Montel Hairston had two hits for the Tar Heels while Gavin Taylor, CeJay Chaparro, Caleb Williams, and Christian Rhew (HR) had one apiece.
Noah Hall had the lone hit for the Yankees.
B&L Auto 23, Reds 5
Christopher Strader, Dakota Cooper, Alex Stadler, Matthew Martin, Dawson Stanley, and Grayson Barham had three hits for B&L and Jacob Moore (HR), Tyler Land, Jonathan Holland, Seth Martin, and Benjamin Barrow had two. Savion Thompson added one other hit.
Garrett Gatewood and Joe Bray had two hits each for the Reds and Daniel Crowder, Damion Hayes, and Chandon Gardner had one apiece.
Warriors 19, SpaceWalk 0
Austin Felde, Coby Ingle, Tamson Moore, and Jarrett Pulliam had three hits for the Warriors and Josh Carter, Zac Baber, Christian Beville, and Ethan Busick had two apiece. Rounding out the list with one apiece were Payton Bayne and Tristian Strader.
