BLUESTONE — Without starting quarterback JaQuan Hubbard, who is nursing a knee injury, Tunstall clobbered winless Bluestone 31-6 on Friday night.
Four Trojans rushed for touchdowns and the Tunstall (3-2) defense pitched a shutout as Bluestone’s lone score came on a 96-yard fumble return in the second quarter.
Matthew Wilson plunged into the end zone from 9 yards out with nearly six minutes remaining in the first quarter to provide a lead Tunstall held on to for the remainder of the night. Tae Gunter scored on a 1-yard run about five minutes before intermission and Justin Williams — who pounded out 143 yards on 11 carries — and Cameron Scates added touchdown runs of 3 and 7 yards, respectively, in the fourth quarter to ice the game.
The Trojans took advantage of two Bluestone (0-3) turnovers in the rout and Zack Rice hit a 30-yard field goal as time expired in the first half.
Tae Gunter filled in at quarterback for Hubbard and completed 4-of-5 passes for 74 yards.
