History's forgotten heroes

To the editor:

“Red Tails” is the amazing movie about the Tuskegee Airmen. They fought and died for the freedom and liberties we enjoy today. Their untold story was brought to the big screen all across America, thanks to the 20-year effort of George Lucas.

DuringWorldWar II, the Tuskegee Airmen flew 150,000 sorties for the United States Army Air Corps, many times as wingmen for white pilots that did not knowof their ethnicity. These extraordinary men put country first even though they came home and were treated as second-class citizens.

Let’s do them proud by attending this movie and be their wingmen— symbolically— at the box office.
