Hurt's done a good job in House

To the editor:

At year’s end, the people of Virginia’s Fifth District can be proud to be represented by Rep. Robert Hurt in the House of Representatives.

His first year of office has demonstrated that he remains true to his commitments and he continues to share our region’s urgent concerns to increase employment and decrease government over-regulation.

Because his work in Congress rings true to his words in his campaign victory, he continues to deserve the respect and support of our district. Hurt proves himself to be a gifted civic servant who works tirelessly to defend the values of our society and also to strengthen the economy at the local as well as the national level.

We look forward to 2012 as he perseveres in the efforts to balance the federal budget, reducing out of control spending and revitalizing the economy to free up business and industry to create new jobs and keep workers fully employed.

The people of Chatham, Danville, Pittsylvania County and the entire Fifth District are honored to be served by a leader with integrity, and Hurt is a positive reflection of the community and the commonwealth.
