DRMC has turned the corner

To the editor:

I would like to look at the bad and good of Danville Regional Medical Center. I have read many letters to the editor on the bad and good at Danville Regional and spoken to many people and it’s the same. I see the good, but in my mind, I have to look at both sides and come up with my own analysis, my answer and my acceptance.

So, I tear down both issues. I see the good, but I look at finding the bad. Upon moving here in 2000, my mother’s journey, my journey and my sister’s journey have been exceptional. I have found an exceptional hospital. I feel that Danville is so fortunate to have a medical organization that has a heart center, Dukeaffiliated doctors and all that I have encountered have been exceptional.

The hospital is community-oriented, they put thousands of dollars into our community and strive to be the best, from their mission statement, their employees, their nursing staff, pharmacy andEmergency Department.

The pharmacy is outstanding, providing personal help on all fronts. They are patient, always the same, helpful and they go beyond, I think, a normal pharmacy.

Their medicines are the lowest price. Each and every person is treated the same. They recognize your voice over the phone, in person, and have a wonderful call-in service to fill medications. Personally, I want to thank each and everyone on the staff but I know that each one of them knows howI feel because I tell them all the time.

I am going to give up looking for the bad, as I can’t find it, but I have listened to others. I am going to stay with the good.

I salute Danville Regional Medical Center and hope you will, too. They have been a true blessing to me and hopefully sometime you also feel howblessed you are as our hospital keeps striving to keep us well. That’s my story and I am stickin’ to it.
