An Eden teacher who was arrested Jan. 18 on sex charges with a student was indicted by a grand jury on Monday.
Whitney Dow Buck, 38, of 640 Rob Tom Road was charged with two counts of sexual activity with a student by a teacher. The incidents were said to have occurred in December of last year and in January, according to her case file.
Buck resigned from her position as a business teacher at Morehead High School after her arrest. Police said they received information indicating she had inappropriate sexual contact with a male student less than 18 years old
Julia Hejazi, chief assistant district attorney, will be acting as prosecutor on the case. She said Buck’s first appearance in court is scheduled for March 12 in Rockingham County Superior Court.
