An Axton man is dead, after a crash in Henry County overnight.

Sgt. Robert Carpentieri, of State Police's Salem Division, says 27-year-old Jacob Matthew Boyd was driving a 1998 Dodge R15 pick-up truck on Route 674, around 11 p.m. Thursday night.

Troopers believe the truck ran off the right side of the road, just north of Rt. 674's intersection with U.S. 58.  The truck hit a utility pole, and Boyd was thrown from the truck, despite wearing a seatbelt.

State Police are still trying to figure out why Boyd ran off the road.
