Pittsylvania County Public Library will participate in a “Come Write In” program to support writers, beginning on Nov. 1.
November is National Novel Writing Month, the world’s largest writing challenge and nonprofit literary crusade. Participants pledge to write 50,000 words in a month, starting from scratch and reaching the end by Nov. 30.
Those who sign up and participate will be eligible to receive a thumb drive, said Diane Adkins, director of the Pittsylvania County Public Library. The library in Chatham will provide a supportive environment, including beverages and snacks.
More than 650 regional volunteers in more than 60 countries will hold write-ins, hosting writers in coffee shops, bookstores and libraries.
