To the editor:
On June 7, I was discharged from a two-night stay at Danville Regional Medical Center — my second stay in a hospital in 77 years. I feel compelled to express my gratitude about the fantastic treatment I received!
I entered the emergency department two nights earlier. I was attended to immediately. The hospital had no available rooms; therefore, I had to stay in an emergency department bed all night. The staff was extremely busy all night — in fact, they were literally running to help people. Amid all this activity, they were constantly checking on my condition. Every doctor, nurse, technician, housekeeper — everyone — treated me with respect and dignity.
The next morning, I was transferred to a room. Everyone I came into contact with treated me as if I were the most important priority. The people who attended to me are precious human beings who work hard and have their own problems. I do hope they will read this and know that I respect and admire them.
