The Danville Area Humane Society will have more options for spying and neutering dogs and cats belonging to residents of Danville and Pittsylvania County during the week of Oct. 11-15.
The Virginia Beach SPCA will bring its neuter scooter to animal shelter parking lot in Danville on Oct. 12 and 13. Sixty surgeries will be available during those two days and owners will take their pets home the same day.
The Humane Society will subsidize the surgeries.
Appointments are available for those days restricted to one animal per household. Those wishing to set an appointment can call (434) 799-0843.
Appointments are also available on Oct. 11 in Evington.
In addition, during the same week, the Humane Society will offer $50 spay/neuter certificates for use at local veterinary clinics. If the surgery costs less than $50, the Humane Society will pay for the complete cost of the spay/neuter surgery. The amount does not apply toward the cost of vaccinations.
This offer is only for surgeries performed Oct. 11-15. No rain checks will be given. You must also come to the shelter to receive a coupon.
Funds for the spay/neuter program are possible through the E. Stuart James Grant Charitable Trust.
