The Danville Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials team is testing a white powder that a county man brought to the Danville Police Department.
Police Chief Philip Broadfoot said the man noticed the powder at his home in Pittsylvania County. He scooped it into a cup and brought the cup into the police department.
Broadfoot said that officers asked the man to return the cup to his car, which was parked on the corner of Patton and Court streets.
Danville Fire Chief David Eagle said that the hazardous materials team would test the material as a precaution.
