The Downtown Danville Association announced new officers to its board of directors, as well as new members of the board.
The new officers were elected by the board, while the new directors were selected by vote from nominations to the board.
New officers are Matt Charles, president; Dale Castiglione, vice president; Melissa Keatts, secretary; and Michelle Bender, treasurer.
The incoming directors are Wendi Goods-Everson, Trae Marley, Mark Gignac, Peggy Wright, Monica Karavanic and Jerry Amburn.
Returning directors are Bennis Butler, Mark Willard, Carl Manasco, Anne Moore-Sparks and Bill Sgrinia.
The organization partners with various city departments to bring attention to downtown businesses, and has had assistance from the Danville Regional Foundation, which assigned participants in its summer intern program to the DDA.
Upcoming events planned by the DDA include partnering with the Danville Association for the Arts & Humanities to bring an Art on Main Street festival to downtown; a Holiday Traditions event to take place in December, as well as Downtown Business After Hours.
On Oct. 14, the DDA will hold a Catfish & Crawdads fundraiser that will feature blues, jazz and funk music and Cajun cuisine.
