DANVILLE — Corrie M. Teague will become the Danville Office of Economic Development’s research and marketing director Monday.

Teague worked as an intern for the department in 2008, according to Anne Moore-Sparks, a project manager for the department.

“We didn’t have a full-time position for her then,” Moore-Sparks said. “When this came up, she applied, and we’re glad to have her back.”

Teague will be responsible for managing the office’s Web site, updating demographic information, working with clients and coordinating with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership on how to present information about the community to potential clients, according to a news release from Jeremy Stratton, director of Economic Development.

“(Teague) is a homegrown talent and an important part in bringing back the best and brightest to Danville,” Stratton said in the new release. “I feel Corrie will do a great job of positioning our Web site and demographic information in such a way that we will have for more companies looking at the region.”

Teague is a Danville native and a graduate of Virginia Tech. She most recently worked at Infinity Global Packaging.
