Belk will hold fall charity sale

CHARLOTTE, N.C.Belk department store in Piedmont Mall will raise money for local charities, schools and nonprofits with its Fall Charity Sale on Nov. 7 from 6 to 10 a.m.

In exchange for a $5 donation, customers will receive a ticket admitting them to the charity sale, where merchandise discounts range from an extra 15 to 50 percent off purchases throughout the store, according to a Belk news release. Customers will also receive $5 off their first purchase of $5 or more at the event. Belk cardholders will receive double rewards points for card purchases.

Participating local charities will sell tickets in advance with all ticket sales proceeds kept by them.

Tickets may now be purchased at Belk stores.

Participating customers can also register to win one of three $1,000 Belk shopping sprees. All participating charities and schools will automatically be registered to win one of three $1,000 donations from Belk.

Belk’s charity sale in May raised more than $5 million for the company’s 16-state market area.

Belk has raised more than $14 million nonprofit organizations throughout the Southeast since starting the event in the fall of 2007.

Charity representatives interested in taking part in this event should contact their local Belk store manager.
