One killed, two injured in Eden shooting

One man was killed and two men were injured in a shooting which occurred early Saturday morning in Eden.

According to a news release from the Eden Police Department, two officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle behind The Hair Company, located at 624 Monroe St., when they heard gunshots coming from the street. The officers alerted police communications and responded on foot to the area where the shots were fired.

The officers observed people running from the area of Eden’s Icehouse Club and Lounge, located at 634 Monroe St. They then discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, Timothy Ronnel Seay, 37, of 1205 Maxin Road, Martinsville, Va., was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. The other two victims, Jason Maurice Gallant, 25, of 8520 Weldon Drive, Richmond, Va., and Terris Tewayne Dandridge, 30, of 621 Mica St., Martinsville, Va., were transported by Rockingham County EMS to Morehead Memorial Hospital, and one was later transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for further treatment. Their conditions were unavailable as of press time.

Rockingham County EMS, Eden Rescue, the Eden Fire Department, North Carolina Highway Patrol and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and assisted the Eden Police Department.
