A Clover woman is charged with driving while impaired after police say she hit three parked cars and drove into a nightclub early Sunday in Pelham, N.C.
North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper J. Moore said Charlotte Wilborn Long, 45, was “incoherent” at the time of the incident, which was called in to the Highway Patrol at 12:07 a.m.
Moore said Long was parked at the side of the Warehouse, a nightclub on Greentree Road off U.S. 29 near the Virginia border, when she apparently put her vehicle into reverse and “floored it,” hitting a pickup truck hard enough to shove it into another vehicle.
She then put her vehicle into drive, sideswiped the pickup parked next to her and went through the wall of the Warehouse, Moore said.
“It’s a prefabricated metal building, and she broke through from her front bumper to the bottom of her windshield,” he said.
A woman sitting in the building was hit and knocked off her barstool, injuring her back, Moore said.
The injured woman was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
