Former President Bill Clinton told a crowd in Downtown Roanoke that fellow Democrat Terry McAuliffe was “made for this time” to become Virginia’s next governor.

Clinton told the crowd about McAuliffe’s family values, as well as the lengths McAuliffe went to to bring people together and work on problems when he was chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Clinton said America must have a jobs strategy, and the lack of one helped send money from Main Street to Wall Street. Clinton promoted green energy as the job strategy that the country needs.

Clinton also praised President Barack Obama’s leadership so far in his first term.
