RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Many of the settlements between the state and families of the Virginia Tech shooting victims are ready for review by a Richmond judge.
The attorney general’s office says a hearing is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in circuit court.
The state has offered $100,000 to each of the 32 students and faculty killed in the April 16, 2007, shootings. Dozens of people injured would get lesser amounts.
Tech student Seung-Hui Cho shot two students to death in a dormitory, then killed 30 more people in an academic building about two hours later. He killed himself as police closed in.
Some families and others have complained about the university’s response after the dorm shootings.
