DANVILLE - A Canadian technology firm will open a joint facility in Danville and Pittsylvania County that will eventually make all IDs and driver’s licenses for the Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles, Gov. Timothy M. Kaine said Wednesday in a news release.
CBN Secure Technologies Inc. will build a high security production facility in Danville, the release states. The new firm will employ 15 to 20 people starting next year.
CBN Secure Technologies will locate its first U.S. facility in Virginia,” Kaine said. “The Danville production center is designed for expansion as the company looks to increase its U.S. operations in the future.”
The 9,000-square-foot plant will be located in the Cyberpark, said Jeremy Stratton, the city’s economic development director.
Work has already begun on the site and construction should be completed in a few months. Jobs will pay about $15 per hour and more jobs are expected to come on line down the road.
