A local regional organization is helping thousands of Pittsylvania County residents who qualify for the economic stimulus package but have not yet filed to claim it. Last month the IRS reported that 26 percent of eligible retirees and disabled veterans did not claim their stimulus payments.
The Danville Pittsylvania BEST (Building Economic Success Together) Coalition reported that 2,517 Pittsylvania residents still qualify and will begin helping prepare files starting next week.
