What is your favorite love song of all time?
A Gershwin show tune?
A Patsy Cline country tune?
Perhaps your taste is more of a rhythm and blues sound from the late Etta James?
All of these familiar love songs and more will be performed live Tuesday at the Stratford Courtyard Conference Center for the Little Theatre of Danville’s Valentine’s Day show “Love: a Reasonable Affliction.”
After last year’s sellout crowd, the Little Theatre decided to renew its musical show in cabaret style with dinner — and a rose for all the ladies — to go along with it.
Several vocalists will sing popular love songs from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s that will show the desire and passion of love. But what are love songs without some dancing?
Dancers will perform on stage, but the crowd is invited to join in if they can step away from their prime rib and champagne chicken. The setting is perfect for people who still prefer being terribly romantic on Cupid’s big day.
Of course, single people are invited as well. One of the shows organizers, Alice Saunders, said the tables will be a mixed crowd of singles and couples. She even said she knows a couple who met at the event last year, since it’s such a good time to mingle.
To attend the show, guests must have reservations and tickets are not available at the door.
