Roger and Althea Cox of Reidsville, N.C. announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Sherron Cox of Raleigh, N.C., to Stephen James Rafferty Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., son of Stephen James Rafferty Sr. and Martha Lynn Wilkerson Rafferty of Raleigh, N.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late William D. Sherron of Reidsville, N.C. and Omie Lee Sherron of Reidsville, N.C., the late Edgar Cox, and Joanne Loye and Albert Loye of Reidsville, N.C. She is a 2005 graduate of Rockingham County High School, received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2009 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and is attending graduate school at Duke University to receive her degree in Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. She is employed as a Registered Nurse at Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Herbert and Martha Wilkerson of Greenville, N.C., the late Jack Rafferty of Raleigh, N.C., and Jean Rafferty of Raleigh, N.C. He received a Bachelor’s of Art in English and History in 2008 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He is employed as a Regional Sales Associate by Daubert Cromwell in Raleigh, N.C.

The wedding will be held at 5 p.m. on August 18, 2012 in Wilmington, N.C.
