Osman Marval singled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning Saturday night, as the Danville Braves defeated the Greeneville Astros, 5-4, at Dan Daniel Park.

Christian Bethancourt scored the winning run for Danville, after reaching base on a throwing error by Greeneville shortstop Jiovanni Mier. Bethancourt got all the way to second base on the play and then came around to score on Marval’s line drive to center.

Danville fell behind 3-1 after three innings, tied it at three with two runs in the fifth inning and took a 4-3 lead in the eighth — only to see the Astros come back and tie it again in the ninth.

Greeneville committed four errors in the loss.

Danville reliever Casey Hodges blew the save in the ninth but picked up the win after working a scoreless 10th.

The Braves swept the three-game series. They open another one today against Johnson City.
