A victory would more than likely assure the Hawks home-field advantage through the Region B playoffs. … Gretna’s win over Chatham moved the Hawks up to No. 8 in the Associated Press Group A Virginia state poll. … A Gretna victory would secure the Hawks a share of the Dogwood District title with Appomattox and Altavista if the Colonels defeat Nelson County. … The Hawks have lost two consecutive games in Naruna. Gretna last won at William Campbell in 2004 when the Hawks routed the Generals 50-30. … Gretna churned out 366 yards on the ground against Chatham, with Andre Dickerson (151) and Nick Miller (137) both exploding for more than 100 yards. … Since 2000, William Campbell has won nine or more games eight times.
