CHATHAM — Appomattox County (8-2, 4-2 Dogwood) more than likely clinched a playoff berth Friday night, defeating Chatham 49-0.

Chatham (2-8, 1-5 Dogwood) was led by running back Cam McClellan, who finished the night with 36 yards rushing on 12 carries. Quarterback Buzz Keel rushed five times for 28 yards and Wesley East added 22 yards on six carries.

On defense, Brent Shelton led the Cavaliers with eight tackles, Cole Morris added six tackles, and Dominique Foreman had six tackles and blocked an Appomattox extra point attempt.

“I’m just happy to finish the season with the guys we have,” Chatham coach Malon Dalton said. “All we can do is regroup and get ready for next year.”
