RCHS to face Overhill in 3-A playoffs

Rockingham County will host Overhills, out of the Cape Fear Valley Conference, in the first round of the NCHSAA 3-A state volleyball playoffs.
The Lady Cougars, who knocked off Eastern Alamance in Wednesday’s Mid-State 3-A Conference tournament finals, are the top seed out of the conference.
Overhills, which is 6-7, is seeded No. 4.
Other Mid-State teams in the playoffs are McMichael, which is seeded No. 3, Morehead, which is a 4-seed, Eastern Alamance (No. 2) and Burlington Williams (5).
McMichael (22-7) will travel to Ledford (16-7, 2), Morehead (8-11) will head to Cardinal Gibbons (19-1, 1), Eastern Alamance (21-4) will host Southern Wayne (4-14, 4) and Williams (9-10) will head to Southern Guilford (24-0, 1).
RCHS’s game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday in Wentworth.
