GW knocks off Parkview

Jasmine Hairston scored 17 points to lead George Washington to a 60-41 victory against Parkview-South Hill on Wednesday night in Danville.
GW (11-2) overcame a sluggish start and a 27-25 lead by Parkview (8-4) at halftime for the win. The Eagles outscored the visitors 21-6 in the third quarter to take control of the game.
Kymissa Walker recorded eight points and 10 rebounds for GW while Whitney White scored seven points and Whitney Preston added six.

Martinsville cruises to victory

RINGGOLD — Angela Hightower and Tabitha Grant tallied 13 points apiece as Martinsville defeated Dan River 51-30 on Wednesday night.
Jazmine Williams paced Dan River (5-5) with nine points, while Breanna Jones chipped in with eight.

Bulldogs get past Wildcats

MARTINSVILLE — In a game that was tied at halftime and after the third period, the Martinsville Bulldogs pulled away down the stretch for a 64-57 non-district win over Dan River on Wednesday.
Darren White paced the Wildcats with 18 points and Trey Edmunds added nine. Dan River (9-2 overall, 2-0 Dogwood District) plays at Altavista on Friday.

Dan River stays unbeaten

MARTINSVILLE — William Poole had 11 points and Torrey White finished with 10 as Dan River edged Martinsville 51-50 on Wednesday. The Wildcats are now 8-0 overall.
