After losing its first seven games of the season, Reidsville has now won back-to-back soccer games – the latest a 2-0 shutout win over Southern Guilford Wednesday night at Community Stadium.
With the win, the Lady Rams are 2-1 in the North State 2-A Conference and 2-7 overall. The loss kept the Lady Storm winless on the season at 0-3-2 overall and 0-1 in conference tilts.
“Monday night was a confidence builder for us,” said Reidsville coach Jarod Williams of the Lady Rams’ first win against W-S Atkins. “Southern really came after us in the second half and we responded well.”
Just eight minutes in the contest, Reidsville grabbed the lead on a Rebecca O’Brian goal. Beth Neal, who would add the team’s second goal of the night, was credited with the assist.
Neal gave her team a 2-0 advantage with a goal at the 28-minute mark. Kaylee Ross assisted on the goal.
In goal, Kinsey Kropa recorded seven saves and recorded the shutout for RHS.
Shots were hard to come by as the Lady Rams edged Southern 8-7. RHS held a 2-0 edge in cor-ner kicks.
Reidsville returns to action Friday night at West Stokes.
“It will be another good test,” added Williams. “If we can play like we did tonight, I know we can do some good things.”
Friday’s game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
