Danville Braves top Burlington Royals 7-1 to complete sweep
Julio Teheran hurled eight spectacular innings of one-run ball as the Danville Braves squished the Burlington Royals 7-1 Monday night to sweep the three-game series in Burlington.
Teheran struck out eight, walked one, allowed four hits and surrendered the lone Burlington run on a solo home run by Geulin Beltre in the fifth inning, which trimmed Danville’s lead to 3-1. The D-Braves (14-7) responded by scoring once more in the seventh and three times in the ninth before Thomas Berryhill pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth to seal the victory.
Keaton Hayenga took the loss after allowing three runs on six hits while striking out five and walking two for Burlington (7-14), which committed a whopping five errors.
L.V. Ware, Cory Harrilchak and Robert Hefflinger smacked two hits apiece to lead Danville offensively. Ware collected two RBIs and Harrilchak and Mycal Jones tripled.

The East Division-leading Braves open a six-game homestand by hosting the West Division leaders, the Elizabethton Twins, for a three-game series beginning 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dan Daniel Park.
