The Roanoke College women’s basketball team placed three players in double figures on Saturday while defeating Averett University 66-38 at the Grant Center in Danville.

Roanoke (4-0) jumped out to a big lead in the first half and never looked backed. The Maroons were lead by Jaleesa Osborne, Anne Hagood and Erin Jenkins each with 10 points.

Averett was hampered by poor shooting, but recovered in the second half and was only outscored by one point over the final 20 minutes. Taylor Poirier led the Cougars with 10 points, while Liz Martin added 9 points off the bench.

The Cougars return to action on Dec. 13, when they will travel to Harrisonburg to play Eastern Mennonite University.
