Thanks to all the folks for Madison’s 3rd Annual Heritage Festival

I want to thank all the folks who were associated with Madison’s Third Annual Heritage Festival this past Saturday. It was a huge success. I spent all day downtown, and I must say that I cannot remember spending a better day downtown. Thanks to the committee — Danny and Cindy Smith, Brian and Becky Scotton, Mandy Freeman, Sandy Vernon, Bobby Pleasants, Lisa Mark, and Barbara Brooks. As well, I would like to extend my appreciation to Nancy Cure and Brenda Vaden for their assistance. Also, to all the businesses and individuals who contributed in sponsorship to make this effort a reality.
The day was about as perfect as you could get it. We had more than 100 vendors, two stages going with fantastic entertainment all day long, and, from restaurants and delis to vendors, we had the best food and beverages you could get anywhere.
Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank all the people from Madison and surrounding areas who came out in support of this gallant effort. It was a fun day had by all, especially me.
Micky Silvers
Mayor of Madison
