Thanks, Rockingham

Congratulations again, Rockingham County. You have hammered together all year with new Habitat for Humanity homeowners in Eden, Reidsville and Stoneville.
Many thanks for in-kind donations from businesses such as Builder’s Mart, Debbie’s Restaurant, Lowe’s of Mayodan and Reidsville, Morgan Tuttle, Church Street Station, Railroad Cafe, Subway (Eden) and others. Richard and Wanda Dyer’s gift of a building on the Boulevard welcomes others to help ready it in ‘09 for a ReStore.
Thanks for projects with Americrown (Martinsville Speedway), Lowe’s Mayodan opening and Wolf Creek Harley-Davidson (MHS and RCHS Honor Societies, RCHS Beta Club’s “Wrap for Habitat”.
Yea for the professional help of Berger Law Firm (Eden, Madison); Davis Appraisal Service; Melvin R. Martin, attorney, and Robertson Land Surveyors. Rockingham County and Eden building specialists advised Habitat on meeting the construction local code standards.
Thank you yard sale participants, work-site lunch preparers, church group volunteers, office volunteers and financial donors.
Thank you, James “Mack” McKinney, for your contractor leadership; Neil and Linda for your electrical expertise; Neil Gibson for setting the house foundations.
Extra recognition goes to the Saturday volunteers who raise the house so that we can all believe in the goodness of community teamwork. We also appreciate those valuable people who remain nameless who give and give again!
In 2009, the caring people of our communities will keep Habitat busy. The city of Eden and Home Savings Bank Foundation lead the way with grants on planned 2009 building projects. Habitat remains united with you for others in need.
