Irresponsible move

I have been watching and listening to the citizens of Rockingham
County express their displeasure regarding the property tax revaluation.
I’d like to express my opinion for an existing industry.
The Karastan operations I have responsibility for in Rockingham County have had their values significantly increased in this revaluation. In these difficult
economic times it is irresponsible for the county commissioners to put
additional tax burden on the few remaining industries they have. I dare say
a new industry could relocate to the county without any taxes at all for
the first several years of operation.
What about the industries that have been operating and providing jobs in the county for many years—over 80 in Karastan’s case. Where is our support?  The commissioners should hold property values at the current levels for its citizens and its
industry.
