Employee of the Year
On Dec. 18 at the City of Reidsville’s Christmas dinner, numerous people were in attendance, which included our own Honorable Mayor James Festerman and members of the Reidsville City Council. Also in attendance were other dignitaries from the county and other cities in our surrounding area, in addition to the city’s retirees and a great portion of the city’s employees and their spouses.
The evening had a special blessing in it for me.Little did I know that this year I was to be the honoree. After having such a fine dinner and enjoying the fellowship, our own City Manager, D. Kelly Almond, began to make some special comments and recognized various city employees. Nothing prepared me for the very emotional presentation that was given to me by the city manager. When the city manager said this year’s Employee of the Year Award goes to Alexander Williams, I was completely surprised. I really didn’t expect it to be me.
I’m writing this letter of thanks and appreciation to all the special citizens and fellow employees of the city of Reidsville who honored me with this award.
To close out a wonderful and fulfilling 30-year career this year, this wonderful award has humbled me even more.
God has been so good to me. He has blessed me with a wonderful wife and five beautiful children and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. God has also provided me with a nice home, good health and strength. I couldn’t ask for more.
To God Be the Glory. Once again, I thank you and may God bless you all.
Alexander Williams
