Voters failed Obama
To the editor:
The foundation was laid, but nothing else was done to finish construction.
When building a house, the foundation is the first part, but there’s a lot more to finishing it. We let someone else finish our house. How quickly we get tired and just stop.
When Barack Obama was running for the presidency, everybody was fired up. Yes, we can. Yes, we can. Every time Obama was to appear somewhere, although there was no admission, people had to RSVP to make sure there was enough room in the building. There was a determination to get that man into the White House. Finally on Election Day, the votes were counted and Obama was elected.
So what happened?
President Obama supported Creigh Deeds for governor. Why didn’t the people come out and vote for Deeds the same way that they came out and voted for Obama? If you believe in someone enough to “go to bat” for him, don’t you believe in him enough to follow through on his advice and to support the people that he endorses? We let President Obama down — and ourselves as well.
The house is finally finished, but it was finished by someone else. In other words, the house is divided. I’m sure you have heard what happens to a house that is divided — it cannot stand.

This is one of the dumbest letters to the editor I have ever seen. This lady, this character McSpadden thinks the public let Obama down. The people who were stupid enough to elect that idiot in the first place are usually the ones like McSpadden who wait around for someone else to “finish the house” as she says.
I mean, what were you people thinking? Did you think that just because this clown had a nice sounding campaign slogan that that would be enough to govern with? How freaking ignorant of you people. Now when the public has seen what Obama is all about, now that they’ve seen his incompetence in action, is it any wonder that they ignored his pleas to elect Democratic candidates for Governor of Virginia and New Jersey respectively?
Hopefully, the rest of the nation will capture the wisdom of Virginia and New Jersey voters next year and throw the Democrats out of Congress before it’s too late. Change you can believe in? What an absolute travesty. Decades from now, historians will look back on the 2008 election and wonder in astonishment, “what the hexx were they thinking, those poor idiots!“
Of course, it doesn’t matter to me, he’s not my President.
To the letter writer.
Lady, you got it so wrong. We owe politicians nothing.
Deeds and the others lost because that is the will of the voters, now those who won have an obligation to not screw it up any worse than has already been done.
If anything, it is Obama who has failed the voters, which is why they did not come out in force for Deeds & Co.
I submit that President Obama has done the following to harm the country:
1. Signed and executive order to close Gitmo. And allowing KSM to be tried in civilian court. What happens if he must be released on a technicality? It could happen.
2. Passed the $787 Billion stimulus package that has not stimulated the economy or curbed the unemployment rate as he said it would. But it has increased the debt load for future generations.
3. Bailed out the auto industry in a “structured bankruptcy” that placed unsecured creditors ahead of secured creditors. This is unprecedented in US bankruptcy history and is nothing but a payback to the UAW for helping get him elected.
4. Cash for clunkers.
5. The “We-are-sorry-for-our-American-arrogance-before-I-was-president” tour.
6. Cancelled the European missile defense shield to appease Vladimir Putin. But of course it did nothing but show him how weak of a leader Obama is.
There’s also the things that he wants to do but has not yet done that will harm our country.
1. Health care reform that will force Americans ant the point of a gun to purchase insurance. But strangely enough, it won’t really reform health care itself.
2. Cap and trade legislation that will be harmful to an already depressed economy.
3. The ironically named “Employee Free Choice Act” that will take away the secret ballot voting during unionization elections.
4. Amnesty for illegal immigrants. Granting a pathway to citizenship for 30 million people that are currently breaking the law by being here.
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. Are these ten items “Change we can believe in”? I personally do not believe these changes are for the good of the nation. And apparently the voters of Virginia do not believe in the change either.
JacksonPollock - i have asked many people that same question (but a little more grammatically correct, but i realize that is how woody speaks) ....and there are never any answers other than “i’m afraid to invest in the stock market because obama might take over the corporations” or “our children have lost their freedoms because they will be in debt” or “the constitution has been violated” or “i’m not paying for someone else”, etc. in other words…made up hysterics. obama didn’t screw up the stock market….we’ve had a deficit since bush and his cronies took over, what part of the constitution has been violated (no one can answer) and we’ve been indirectly paying for others in so many ways throughout the decades..and part of that is what makes this country what it is. so good luck with him answering…i doubt if he will!
Woody. What exactly did Obama “has did” that has hurt this nation?
Just curious. Peace.
What happened? you ask. I’ll tell you what happened. Obama won on his rock star status and the fact that the middle of the road people hated Bush. Then after nearly 11 months in office, they have seen the reality of what the Obama administration is about. Politics as usual. Just on the other side. That’s what happened.
Obama, has did more to hurt this country in 11 months, tha all the presidents in my lifetime!
We not need to get Pelosi lap dog Perrillo out of there!
make that 10!
The United States of America was built on a rock which is the Constitution. Obama’s house was built on sinking sand as the old hymn says. So far there have been 9 Presidents during my lifetime and Obama is by far the worst of the lot.
