Tea Party thanks

To the editor:

On a day when most people were busy with cookouts, on vacation or just resting from their busy work week — the Fourth of July was especially meaningful to me. I had the pleasure of attending the Tea Party at Ballou Park along with my husband and several hundred others.

Delegate Danny Marshall spoke from his heart, as he always does, on changes needed in our government. Virgil Goode was his usual inspiring self, speaking about needed changes. The common theme with everyone, as well as myself, was this out-of-control government spending.

This has to stop! This great country will not survive and is a train wreck waiting to happen if we don’t unite and have the government listen to the people for a change.

I want to personally thank Nigel Coleman, Bobby Conner and all the behind-the-scene workers for setting this up. It was truly a Fourth of July I will always remember.

To the editorial staff:

I’m just curious why you chose to title this letter “Tea Party Tanks” which implies that the reader thought the tea party was a bust and had no intrinsic value, when just the opposite appears to be the case.  I hope that was merely a mistake and not your overt liberalism coming out again.
