Sick of the mud
To the editor:
I’m so sick of mud-slinging politics and so sick of these phone calls with the prerecorded messages coming to my home — and now even to my cell phone. You can’t stop them or block them and they are legal! When will they start spamming my e-mail box? Fortunately, I can block them there.
I wonder at times if the politicians think we are all dumb out here. The real problem is a phrase that is taught in all political arenas and all Bible colleges: “Silence is consent.” You see, it’s so easy to open your mouth and state your concerns to your leaders of either your church or your country, but when you sit back and wait for someone else to do it, then you are giving them the sign (an advertising slogan says one picture is worth a thousand words) that they are doing everything correct! It’s not a problem to e-mail or call your congressman or president, nor is it a problem for you to say something to your church leaders, but tell them the truth — don’t hide or cower down.

In the last two elections alone, between the two major parties, we lost a sizable forest to wasted flyers and pamplets. The only green politicians are interested in their paycheck from our taxes. We should demad a law that prohibits this type of harrassment by politicians.
