For Robertson

To the editor:

As a retired law enforcement officer, I have had the privilege to work with all three candidates for Danville Commonwealth’s Attorney during my tenure. One in particular stands out — Claudette Robertson, who has served as assistant commonwealth attorney in both Danville and Pittsylvania County.

Robertson is someone whom I consider to be a leader.

She has an excellent track record in the courtroom. She has prosecuted some of the hardest cases I have seen, and done so in a manner that represents the commonwealth with integrity and professionalism. Robertson places herself in the shoes of the victim, creating a working relationship that allows for a positive outcome.

Robertson is well respected by the law enforcement community as well as all the people she has represented. Over the years, Robertson has prosecuted numerous cases that I have brought forth. I have never been let down when Robertson has presented my case. She prepares her cases well and ensures that everything she could do gets done.

I urge the citizens of Danville to elect a commonwealth’s attorney that will work hard to ensure that the rights of all citizens are protected, maintain a positive working relationship with law enforcement and keep violent and repeat offenders off of our streets.

This person must have the drive to succeed and have the compassion it takes to endure the hard work that this job requires. Danville, you need a proven leader in Claudette Robertson.

Make the right choice, the only choice, and that is to elect Claudette Robertson as your next commonwealth’s attorney!
