For Mondul
To the editor:
I am a retired major with the Danville Sheriff’s Office. I worked with Sheriff Jim Dooley and Lt. Col. Ronnie Ball. As a team, we accomplished many goals and were ranked among the best sheriff’s offices in the state. I have the utmost respect for Sheriff Dooley and Lt. Col. Ball. The Danville Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Danville will certainly miss a leader like Sheriff Dooley. Through the years, I also worked closely with Lt. Thelbert Childress and Deputy Wayne Booth. They are very good employees, and I consider both good friends.
I met Mike Mondul approximately 15 years ago. I was impressed with him because of his work ethic and his eagerness to work well with other departments. He is always there to lend a helping hand and to work with all people. He is a person with very high morals, honesty and integrity. He has a love and concern for the youth of our city and is involved in many activities for the youth. Mike believes that the youth are the future backbone of our city and building strong morals and character in our youth at an early age will provide quality adults for our city’s future.
He will provide change in the sheriff’s administration with new ideas, and will bring unity between the police department and the sheriff’s office, which will benefit each department — as well as the city of Danville.
He has strong interpersonal skills, strong leadership and speaking skills and a strong background in law enforcement.
I feel that with this enthusiasm and leadership skills Mike Mondul would be a good leader as sheriff for the city of Danville. He will work fairly with all employees and in turn will enhance the morale within the Sheriff’s Office.
I also commend each candidate for running a clean campaign. Each candidate has demonstrated his professionalism.
