A shameful day
To the editor:
Friday was a shameful day in America. The House of Representatives passed the cap and trade bill known by some as the “Waxman and Markey bill.”
Our Fifth District congressman, Tom Perriello, voted for this bill. I don’t think Rep. Perriello can prove to us that he had the will of the people of the Fifth District to vote yes on this bill. In my opinion, Perriello had to satisfy Queen Nancy (Pelosi) rather than the voters of his district. I will campaign long and hard to remove Perriello from office on his next election. Hopefully, the Senate will have more brains than the House and save us from this bill.

Did any of the news outlets inform the PEOPLE about this no they were to interested in Micheal Jackson.try to sell your house now if it is GREEN certified. And the people should be able to see a copy of what the Health bill will be and vote on it. The only way out of this is to vote them all out of office but then again could be same old thing just different faces. Hey mister VIDICATOR you are right. Most of the population a stumps without any idea of whats going on. I believe the founding fathers knew that one day we would have a super corrupt government.
I’m an independent voter who is very pleased to see the beginning of a serious effort prevent further deterioration of our ozone layer as well as to get us all off foreign oil dependence—if I were a partisan hack, I would say “who’s the real American here??“ The recent elections have been a wave of American voters’ opinions that we DO need to take action on this, rather than continue down the path of the last few years. Most of us voters don’t care about keeping our oil barons, Wall Street executives, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance industries on their gravy train of windfall profits—the recent elections, if anything, have been a referendum against all of these greedy profiteers. We voters only have two party choices, and one of those has clearly become the advocate for the interests of the wealthiest among us. The “other” party now has a chance to make progress that their opposition refused to do, so we’ll all see in several years how it goes—but continuing down the same path as the last few years clearly would have been worse than what is happening now.
Hopefully, the Senate will have more brains than the House? What a joke! Talk about wishful thinking. We haven’t even seen the tip of the iceburg yet. The Socialists have taken over this country with our own help and over half the Nation has been dumbed down to the point they haven’t a clue! The greatest nation in the world is on its death bed and the sheeple can only blame themselves for their plight. U.S.A. RIP.
