Deputies responded to a reported breaking and entering at a residence at 1716 Lindsey Bridge Road in Madison at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday. Before the arrival of sheriff’s deputies, Madison Police Officer Shuler and a family member found the suspect and brought him outside the residence. The occupants of the residence, Hazel and Linda Webster, identified the suspect as a distant relative.

After deputies arrived on the scene, they found medication and cash that belonged to the victims in the pockets of the suspect, 28-year-old Joshua Evan Richardson of 100 Dahlia Lane in Stokesdale. Richardson was charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny and possession of a Schedule IV substance.

Detective Bobby Richardson investigated the suspect’s involvement with two other breaking and entering offenses earlier Tuesday morning that led to further charges against the suspect. Richardson was charged with felony breaking and entering a place of worship, larceny and possession of stolen goods from Eden United Methodist Church at 844 Eden Church Road in Madison. The church reported a TV, two VCR’s, a TV cart, a vacuum cleaner and two cordless phones stolen. The detective recovered those items.

Also on Tuesday morning, Charles Edward Justice Sr. of 871 Eden Church Road reported a breaking and entering of his 1999 Dodge truck and the theft of several items, including a handheld fire radio, Whelin light, stereo faceplate, compact discs and a lawnmower. The value of the stolen items was listed between $1,000 and $2,000. Richardson was charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, possession of stolen goods and misdemeanor larceny in connection with that incident.

Richardson’s bond was set at $100,000.
