Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page announces that effective immediately the sheriff’s office will be a collection site for fans for seniors, a news release said. People wishing to donate a new or like-new fan for those in need may bring their donation to either the sheriff’s office at 1088 N.C. 65 in Wentworth or the American Red Cross, Rockingham County chapter, 3692 NC14 Reidsville; the contact person is Bobbie Seagraves, 349-3434.

When fans are collected they will be taken to the Red Cross facility on N.C. 14 for distribution. Priorities will be given to seniors.

Also, school is almost out and some families will have an increased burden in providing food for their family. Nonperishable food items will be accepted as well. They will be given to the Red Cross for their normal distribution process.
