Home for the holidays
Meredith Keeling is looking forward to coming home.
As an Estee Lauder account executive, Keeling is the makeup artist who will be featured at the Pennrose Mall Belk store’s Holiday Extravaganza on Friday.
“It’s really exciting,” said Keeling, who is originally from Reidsville but now lives in Charlotte. Keeling said she will be taking part in the event, assisting customers with makeup questions and helping them find holiday gifts for all the people on their lists.
Belk store manager Felix McElveen said the store has held similar events in the past, but this one is extra special because of Keeling’s participation.
“She’s a hometown girl and there’s a lot of people that are looking forward to seeing her,” McElveen said.
Keeling said her parents still live in Reidsville, but, “I don’t get to visit nearly as much as I’d like to.”
She said she’s excited about seeing people she hasn’t seen in a while. Keeling has worked for Estee Lauder for two and a half years. She said taking part in this weekend’s event will give her a chance to give back to the community in which she was raised.
“This is really about helping women to feel beautiful,” she said.
McElveen said the holiday event is designed to allow shoppers to be pampered with makeovers. It also includes live entertainment, refreshment, holiday modeling and a silent auction for breast cancer research.
The event begins at 10 a.m. Friday and will run until 6 p.m. Keeling said full consultations will be offered on an appointment basis. To make an appointment, call the store at (336) 342-3321, ext. 266.
