From staff reports

M. Martha Woody of Martinsville is joining Rep. Tom Perriello’s staff as caseworker for veterans’ affairs, providing assistance to former military servicemen and women with their benefit programs.

The announcement, from Perriello’s office Tuesday afternoon, said that Woody will assist Regional Director Kimble Reynolds and split her time between Perriello’s Danville and Martinsville offices.

“She will help streamline the sometimes tedious process many of our veterans face when dealing with administrative issues, a development that will improve their quality of life,” Perriello said in the news release. “As a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I constantly strive for this goal and am excited that our office will be able to expand our constituent services in this area.”

Woody will be working in Perriello’s Danville office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and be at the Martinsville office on Mondays and Thursdays.

Veterans, or anyone seeking federal assistance, can call the Danville office at (434) 791-2596 or the Martinsville office at (276) 656-2291.
