THANKSGIVING COMMUNITY BREAKFAST: Rock Springs United Methodist Men, State Road 713, Ringgold, will hold its 21st annual Community Thanksgiving breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. The free breakfast which includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, grits, biscuits and gravy.
FRIDAY
November 27
COA FRIDAY NIGHT DANCE: The Ballou Recreation Center’s Council on Aging dance for Nov. 27 at Ballou Recreation Center has been cancelled. The dances will resume Dec. 4 at regular time.
TREE OF LIGHTS: The Riceville – Java Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a Tree of Lights at Fire Station 29 on Va. 640 in Java. White lights will be added to the tree to indicate “in memory of” red lights for “in honor of;” blue lights will be added for fire, rescue, police and other public safety worker, and yellow lights for military personnel. The cost is $5 per bulb, and will represent one name. Contact any member of the department by Dec. 1 to prepare a commemorative booklet in time for the lighting service, which will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 13 in front of the station. LOYALTON SENIOR LIVING OPEN HOUSE: Loyalton Senior Living Community, 432 Hermitage Drive, will hold open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 27, 28 and 29. Come visit and enjoy cookies and cider.

STEWHOUSE SALE: God’s Stewhouse will be have stew and fried pies ready at 10:30 a.m. at Riveroak Church of God. Cost of stew is $5 per quart; fried pies $1.25.
AMERICAN LEGION POST 325 WILL BE RINGING BELLS: American Legion Post 325 will be ringing bells in support of the Salvation Army from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wal-Mart.

SOUTH BOSTON-HALIFAX COUNTY MUSEUM OPEN HOUSE: The South Boston-Halifax County Museum will host its annual Christmas Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served and there will be entertainment for all ages.
