Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for two others involved in a robbery Monday evening at the Purdum Woods apartment complex.
A man reported being robbed at Purdum Woods shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Danville Police Department.
The victim told officers that he went to Shonda Latarsha Mayo’s apartment to play chess, but was robbed instead by Mayo and two black males.
“The two guys roughed him up while she held the gun on him,” Lt. Mike Mondul said Tuesday. “He was not seriously injured.”
Mayo, 33, has been arrested and charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Mondul said the two men who assisted in the robbery have not been identified. The victim described the suspects as being in their 20s or 30s, with one wearing a black hoodie and dark pants, and the other wearing a dark shirt and baseball cap.

Jobs are scarce here, but for some reason the managers in fast food & retail can not keep employees. This is because they hire someone who wants the pay check, but doesn’t want to work for it. They lay out, don’t call in, or they are insabordanant. So back to square one. They don’t want to work becasue they know our tax dollars will pay their way through life.
She does not appear to be disabled in any way, she SHOULD be out looking for a job instead of looking for a victim.
I agree, drug test ALL that receive state funds. let them do work at the hospital for their medical care. Let them work in the courthouse or city hall if they get housing assistance. The police needs to start cracking some heads of these wanna be gangsters.
If you really want to work you can find a job,it takes determination,get the job and then move!
To set the record straight everyone who lives in this apartment complex is not dead beats, they are on fixed incomes or have no income and cannot afford to live any where else. To those of you saying that these people need to get a job the question is (WHERE).
I have to deal with these people every day and I don’t enjoy it at all. What gets me is I get drug tested at work and pay taxes just to have it given to those that don’t want to work. Here is an idea, drug test them before they can receive my tax dollars. Better yet, if they don’t have a diploma or GED they should not even be eligible for assistance. Get a JOB and quit living off of me.
Mayo looks like she used to be a man! What kind of brain surgeon invites someone to their apartment and robs them? If he was going to play chess with her or him it should have been a short game. From rook to crook!!
She looks like she fell face-first into a tackle box. Or caught some nasty shrapnel.
“They” would be the perps in this crime.

We have no idea what color the criminals are (other than the lovely mistress in the mugshot) as the po-po has yet to identify or catch them.
