Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for two others involved in a robbery Monday evening at the Purdum Woods apartment complex.

A man reported being robbed at Purdum Woods shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Danville Police Department.

The victim told officers that he went to Shonda Latarsha Mayo’s apartment to play chess, but was robbed instead by Mayo and two black males.

“The two guys roughed him up while she held the gun on him,” Lt. Mike Mondul said Tuesday. “He was not seriously injured.”

Mayo, 33, has been arrested and charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Mondul said the two men who assisted in the robbery have not been identified. The victim described the suspects as being in their 20s or 30s, with one wearing a black hoodie and dark pants, and the other wearing a dark shirt and baseball cap.

So your people robbed you did they….
Maybe you should go to church and pray some more….
Some people like yourself throw GOD into anything, stop going to church and just pray daily, you will feel alot better about life.

Musik.  I am not racist. I don’t care what color your skin is. My point is if I can work 2 jobs to support my family and all of these people that will not work, I do tend to get tired of it.  Plus, if I quit my job I would be just like them and on the SYSTEM. Hummm might just work out to the good.  Granted, some people need help but white or black you can get a job and not live on the SYSTEM.  There was an industry that was hiring a while back and out of over 300 applicants over 2/3 of them could not pass a drug test.  It is a shame that tax dollars help these people out but a lot of them, not saying all of them, still have money to get their drugs.  Oh thats right lets rob someone so we can get the drugs..LOL….

Oh there someone goes with the “go to church” thing. Oh please…..there are so many churches in this town….yet the criminal are taking over. I’d say it’s time to try something else.
Most of the church people in this town are hipocrates. Give us a break already.

There are clearly some people who use this website to vent all of their racist opinions. I can only say that they will be sadly disappointed when they meet Jesus. I have been a victim of Danville’s crime myself, but that does not make me hate one particular race over the other, or my own race for that much!!

I have read all the posted comments, they are really funny people of Danville.  especially the future ex city employee, you are to much.  Why not just quit or better yet send them all on wild goose chases, just to keep them busy.  LOL

I am a native Danvillian, but usually don’t speak publicly about these issues, but this kind of hate only fuels the fire.  This poor girl has been tried and convicted of a crime and she has not stepped one foot inside a courtroom.  Come on people!! And just because she lives in Purdum Woods doesn’t make her a criminal - economics could be a factor with regard to her living conditions. And whos to say that she is not a victim here!! Yea, I said that. And just because you don’t like her hairstyle, does that give you the right to judge a person.  People if you sweep around your own front door you’ll probably find just a much trash!!

For all of you people who are so quick to spew your hate and rascist comments I can only say when you get to church Sunday morning turn to who ever is closest to you and ask them to pray for you, apparently you need it.
I worked with Shonda for over a year at Diebold Inc. In case you have never heard of it it’s one of the plants that locked there doors and left Danville.
In the time I worked with her she was a valued member of our team, always on time, never laid out and would always go above and beyond what ever was asked of her.
Besides coming on these boards and spewing your hate about someone you know nothing about, what are you doing to reach out to those who are in need?

Some people just don’t get it do they? Read the story real talk. There were 2 guys with this thug and a gun involved. As far as I am concerned this one is a guilty until proven innocent case. By the way, where do you live so we can check out your local news? This town is not full of haters. People are just tired of the bull##@$ and are not putting up with it any more.
